From her large rural studio in west Cornwall, Catherine Lucktaylor creates stunning handcrafted contemporary ceramics.
Exquisitely crafted pinched & coiled bowls and vessels embody the wild beauty of the Cornish landscape with many surfaces burnished to a smooth sheen using her favourite beach pebble.
Recent collections are Raku fired; an ancient Japanese technique which means 'Enjoyment". Glazed pieces removed from the kiln whilst red hot & smoked in sawdust, give the distinctive crackle effect.
All pieces are made by hand in small collections ranging from bowls & small pots to large vessels.
A piece from the Wild Cornwall Collection was featured on the BBC's The Great Pottery Throwdown & described as a 'perfect example of Raku.'
