My contemporary ceramic vessels, bowls and wall plaques are slabbed formed with textured black clay. They are decorated with slips before being impressed with marks, which are inspired by photographs taken whilst travelling extensively. I have a long held fascination with the idea of future fossils, creating surface pattern by using found man made objects such as machine parts, nails or old circuit boards- the man made leaving an imprint on the earth. Coloured glazes are used to highlight the mark making before firing to stoneware. A range of ceramic jewellery (stud and drop earrings, pendants, bangles, brooches) compliments the designs of my wrap pots. It is my aim to make affordable, usable art that people want to use or wear everyday.
