City: Great Shelford
I design and make silver jewellery in my studio near Cambridge, selling in prestige shops and galleries in London, Birmingham and Cambridge.
I am influenced by historic decorative arts: from Islamic tiling and Egyptian scarabs, through to Art Deco. The work displays elegantly curved and stylised flower and animal motifs.
The work is intricate and set with colourful gemstones such as fancy Garnets, Topaz, and Lapis. I often use unusual settings and shapes such as marquise cuts, with the skills gained from my training at Birmingham School of Jewellery (HND Distinction). I combine modern CAD techniques with traditional skills of piercing, soldering, fine setting and fine finishing, to produce beautifully finished pieces on economic terms.
