I’m a Yorkshire-based jeweller, enameller and printmaker, working primarily in etched silver and copper, plus other metals as the inspiration takes me.
My printmaking, and previous training as a garden designer have both been big influences on my jewellery. I have developed my etching methods from traditional printmaking techniques, and I love to experiment with the chemistry of the materials to produce work which is spontaneous and textural, and has been described as having ‘something of the night about it’.
Inspiration comes from watching the landscape framed by the train window, or in aerial photos and garden plans, as I translate the shapes, textures and patterns into picture-like pieces which are always a little bit different.
